Aaron Hickey

Aaron Hickey is a Scottish left-back who came through the Hearts and Celtic academies before making his senior debut for Hearts at 16. He developed as an attacking full-back at Bologna in Serie A before joining Brentford in 2022, earning 21 Scotland caps.

Hickey debuted for Heart of Midlothian at 16 in 2019, quickly establishing himself as one of Scottish football's most promising young defenders. He moved to Bologna in Italy in 2020, where he developed into an attack-minded left wing-back and scored five league goals in the 2021–22 season.

After joining Brentford in the Premier League in 2022, he suffered a serious hamstring injury in October 2023 that kept him sidelined for almost two years. He returned to first-team action in August 2025 and was recalled to the Scotland squad shortly after.
