Kaishu Sano

Kaishu Sano is a Japanese defensive midfielder currently playing for 1. FSV Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga. He developed at FC Machida Zelvia and Kashima Antlers before making his move to Germany in 2024.

Sano spent four productive seasons at FC Machida Zelvia, making 116 league appearances, then joined Kashima Antlers in 2023 where he added 47 more. His consistent performances earned him a move to Mainz 05 in 2024, where he has made 68 league appearances. He made his Japan senior debut in 2023 and has earned 13 caps, becoming a squad member for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
