Czech goalkeeper who developed at Sparta Prague before establishing himself at Viktoria Plzeň and then Slavia Prague. Czech First League Goalkeeper of the Year 2021–22, he made his senior international debut in 2021 and was in the Euro 2024 and 2026 World Cup squads.
Staněk began his career at Sparta Prague's academy, with brief stints at Everton in England in 2014. He returned to Czech football and progressed through České Budějovice before joining Viktoria Plzeň permanently in January 2021, where he won the Czech First League in 2021–22 and was named Goalkeeper of the Year.
In January 2024 he joined Slavia Prague as part of a swap deal, and has since continued his winning form, lifting back-to-back Czech First League titles. He made his Czech Republic debut in September 2021 and has 14 caps.
