Waldemar Anton is a German centre-back born in Uzbekistan who joined Borussia Dortmund in July 2024 for €22.5 million after serving as VfB Stuttgart's club captain. He won the 2017 UEFA U-21 Championship and has earned 13 senior Germany caps including selection for Euro 2024 and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Anton progressed through Hannover 96's youth system and made 130 league appearances across four seasons for the senior side in both the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga. He transferred to VfB Stuttgart in 2020, becoming club captain in August 2023, and made 127 league appearances including the club's Bundesliga runner-up finish in 2023–24, earning a place in the league's Team of the Season.

Borussia Dortmund signed him in July 2024 as a replacement for Mats Hummels, and he made 58 appearances across his debut campaign. Internationally, he won the 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship and finished runner-up in 2019, before making his senior Germany debut in March 2024, accumulating 13 caps and representing the country at Euro 2024.
