Houssem Aouar

Houssem Aouar is a French-Algerian midfielder who plays for Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League, having previously been a central figure at Olympique Lyonnais for seven seasons.

Aouar came through Lyon's academy and went on to make 179 senior appearances for the club, earning recognition in the UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season in 2019–20. He moved to Roma in 2023 before joining Al-Ittihad in 2024, where he won the Saudi Pro League and King's Cup in 2024–25.

Originally capped once by France at senior level, he switched international allegiance to Algeria in 2023. He represented the Desert Foxes at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and has earned 20 caps and 6 goals, also featuring in the 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.
