L'histoire

Leandro Paredes is an Argentine defensive midfielder who returned to Boca Juniors in 2025 after a career spanning Europe's top leagues, and is an experienced figure in Argentina's midfield having won the World Cup and two Copa América titles. Known for his composure on the ball and reading of the game, he is a key link between defence and attack.

Paredes began his career at Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires before moving to Europe, where he played for Roma, Empoli (loan), and Zenit Saint Petersburg. He joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2019 in a high-profile move, spending time on loan at Juventus before returning to Roma in 2023.

He rejoined Boca Juniors in 2025, coming full circle in his career. Internationally, Paredes was a central figure in Argentina's golden generation, earning 77 caps and winning the 2021 Copa América, the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and the 2024 Copa América.
