Akam Hashem

An Iraqi centre-back from Erbil who came through Erbil SC's academy and transitioned to Al-Shorta, winning the 2024-25 Iraq Stars League. He received his first senior international call-up in January 2024 as an injury replacement and debuted in June 2024 during World Cup qualifying.

Hashim progressed through Erbil SC's youth system and was promoted to the first team in 2017. He moved clubs before establishing himself at Al-Shorta, where he helped win the 2024-25 Iraq Stars League.

He was called into the Iraq squad for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup as a late replacement and made his senior debut on 11 June 2024 against Vietnam in World Cup qualifying, accumulating 11 caps.
