The story

Ayase Ueda is a Japanese striker playing for Feyenoord in the Dutch Eredivisie. A prolific scorer, he has become one of the most dangerous forwards in European football and Japan's leading international goalscorer.

Ueda progressed through Hosei University before signing with Kashima Antlers, where he scored 38 goals in 86 appearances. He moved to Belgian side Cercle Brugge in 2022, netting 22 times in 40 games, which earned him a transfer to Feyenoord in 2023. At Feyenoord he has been outstanding, winning the KNVB Cup in 2023–24 and the Johan Cruyff Shield in 2024. He has represented Japan 39 times at senior level, scoring 16 goals, and was named JPFA Player of the Year in 2025.
