Besfort Zeneli

Swedish midfielder of Kosovo Albanian descent who switched international allegiance from Kosovo to Sweden in 2024 and earned a place in the 2026 World Cup squad after his move to Belgium.

Zeneli, born to Kosovo Albanian parents from near Mitrovica, began his professional career with IF Elfsborg in January 2022, making 68 league appearances over four seasons. He transferred to Belgian Pro League club Union Saint-Gilloise in January 2026.

Initially eligible to represent Kosovo, he switched allegiance to Sweden in 2024, citing mistreatment by the Kosovo football federation. He made his Sweden debut in March 2025 and earned 8 caps before selection for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
