César Montes

César Montes is a tall, ball-playing Mexican centre-back who spent seven seasons at Monterrey before moving to Europe, where he has played in Spain and Russia.

Montes came through and starred at Monterrey for seven years (2015–2022), making over 200 Liga MX appearances. He moved to Europe with RCD Espanyol in 2023 and then to UD Almería before joining Lokomotiv Moscow in 2024.

A regular for Mexico since 2017, he has earned 68 caps and was part of three CONCACAF Gold Cup-winning squads (2019, 2023, 2025) as well as the 2025 Nations League triumph. He also won an Olympic bronze medal at Tokyo 2020.
