Denis Zakaria

Denis Zakaria is a Swiss defensive midfielder of South Sudanese and Congolese descent who developed at Servette, Young Boys, and Borussia Mönchengladbach before moving to Juventus and subsequently AS Monaco, where he serves as captain.

Born in Geneva to a South Sudanese father and Congolese mother, Zakaria came through Servette's academy. He established himself at Young Boys and Borussia Mönchengladbach, earning a €35 million move to Juventus in January 2022. He was loaned to Chelsea during that spell before finding consistent form at AS Monaco in Ligue 1.

At Monaco he has been named club captain and accumulated 65 international caps for Switzerland, featuring in multiple World Cups and European Championships.
