The story

Lamine Yamal is a Spanish winger for FC Barcelona and the Spain national team, widely regarded as one of the most gifted teenagers in football history. At Euro 2024, aged 16, he scored a stunning semi-final goal and provided four assists as Spain won a record fourth European title.

Yamal joined Barcelona's La Masia academy at age six and made his first-team debut in April 2023 at just 15. He became a regular starter from the 2023–24 season, his flair, left-footed long-range goals, and chance creation drawing frequent comparisons to Lionel Messi. He won the Kopa Trophy and Golden Boy in 2024, and finished Ballon d'Or runner-up in 2025.

Internationally, Yamal debuted for Spain's senior side on 8 September 2023 and quickly became a key figure. At Euro 2024, he delivered a moment of brilliance in the semi-final against France — a curling long-range strike widely hailed as the tournament's goal — before Spain claimed the title. He also contributed to Barcelona's La Liga and Copa del Rey treble in 2024–25.
