Mateo Chávez

Mateo Chávez is a young Mexican left-back who progressed through Guadalajara's academy before moving to AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie in 2025.

Chávez made his professional debut with Tapatío in September 2022 and graduated to Guadalajara's first team, making his Liga MX debut in January 2024. He made the move to Dutch football with AZ Alkmaar in May 2025 on a four-year deal.

He has represented Mexico at various youth levels and earned 10 senior caps, including a place in the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup-winning squad. He was selected for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
