L'histoire

Matt Turner is an American goalkeeper who became the United States' first-choice stopper for much of the early 2020s. He has played in the Premier League and Ligue 1, and currently returns to New England Revolution on loan from Lyon.

Turner spent the core of his domestic career at New England Revolution, where he was named MLS Goalkeeper of the Year in 2021 — the first Revolution keeper to win the award. He then joined Arsenal in 2022 and subsequently Nottingham Forest, before earning a loan move to Crystal Palace that brought him an FA Cup winner's medal in 2024–25. He signed for Lyon in 2025 and returned to New England Revolution on loan.

With 54 international caps, Turner was a central figure for the United States at the 2022 FIFA World Cup — becoming the first American goalkeeper to keep multiple clean sheets in a single World Cup tournament since 1930. He won two CONCACAF Nations League titles and the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup, claiming the Golden Glove at the 2021 and 2023 editions.
