Paul Okon-Engstler

Paul Okon-Engstler is a Belgium-born defensive midfielder of Nigerian and German descent who plays for Sydney FC and represents Australia. He was part of the Socceroos U20 squad that won the 2025 AFC U-20 Asian Cup.

Okon-Engstler developed at Marconi Stallions and then Western Sydney Wanderers in Australia before moving to Belgium to join Club Brugge in 2022. He later signed with Benfica's youth system and appeared for Benfica B in the 2024–25 season, making 8 league appearances.

He joined Sydney FC on a three-year deal in July 2025, debuting in the Australia Cup. Holding eligibility for Belgium, Australia, Cuba, and Italy, he chose to represent Australia, earning 17 U20 caps and 6 senior Socceroos appearances.
