Pavel Šulc

Czech attacking midfielder who won the Czech Golden Ball and Czech Footballer of the Year in 2025 before signing for Ligue 1 side Lyon on a four-year deal. Has earned 20 caps and 5 goals for Czechia since his debut in March 2024.

Šulc progressed through Viktoria Plzeň's system and made his competitive debut in January 2021. After loan spells at lower-tier Czech clubs he established himself as Plzeň's key creative player, contributing to their 2023–24 UEFA Europa Conference League run to the quarter-finals and winning the Czech First League in 2021–22.

His outstanding 2024–25 season earned him both the Czech Golden Ball and Czech Footballer of the Year awards. He signed a four-year contract with Olympique Lyonnais in August 2025. His international debut came in March 2024; by March 2026 he had scored 5 goals in 20 appearances and was named to the 2026 World Cup squad.
