Piero Hincapié

Piero Hincapié is an Ecuadorian centre-back who won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double with Bayer Leverkusen in 2023–24 before joining Arsenal on loan, where he added the Premier League title in 2025–26. He is one of Ecuador's most capped defenders under 25.

Hincapié came through Independiente del Valle and had a short stint at Talleres de Córdoba before Bayer Leverkusen signed him in 2021. He was a key part of the historic unbeaten Leverkusen side that won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal in 2023–24, then moved to Arsenal on loan for 2025–26, winning the Premier League.

He has represented Ecuador since his teens and accumulated 51 caps and 3 goals, appearing at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2024 Copa América, where he was named in the Team of the Tournament.
