Ruben Vargas

Rubén Vargas is a Swiss winger from Adligenswil who spent six seasons at FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga before joining Sevilla in January 2025, earning player-of-the-match honours against Italy at Euro 2024 and holding 60 caps with 11 goals for Switzerland.

Vargas began his career at FC Luzern in 2017 before transferring to FC Augsburg in 2019, where he scored on debut against Union Berlin. Over six seasons he developed into one of the Bundesliga's more reliable wide players. In January 2025 he signed with Sevilla in La Liga.

He made his Switzerland debut in 2019 and has been a consistent squad member through Euro 2020, the 2022 World Cup, and Euro 2024, where his performance in the win over Italy was particularly impressive.
