Santiago Bueno

Santiago Bueno is a Uruguayan centre-back who came through Barcelona's academy and built his senior career at Girona FC, where he helped the club earn promotion to La Liga, before joining Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League in 2023. He won the 2017 South American U-20 Championship with Uruguay.

Bueno joined Barcelona's youth set-up in 2017 but made his name through loan spells at Peralada-Girona B and then as a senior player at Girona FC, where he played 110 competitive matches and contributed to the club's promotion to La Liga in 2021-22.

Wolverhampton Wanderers paid £8.5 million to sign him in August 2023. He became a regular in the Premier League, making 70 appearances and earning his first senior Uruguay call-ups, including selection for the 2026 World Cup squad.
