Sebastian Berhalter

Sebastian Berhalter is an American midfielder who plays for Vancouver Whitecaps FC in MLS and the United States national team. Born in London to former national team coach Gregg Berhalter, he has developed into one of MLS's top playmakers.

Berhalter grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and attended the University of North Carolina before signing as a homegrown player with Columbus Crew in January 2020. He won the MLS Cup in his first season before loan spells at Austin FC and a permanent move to Vancouver in February 2022.

At Vancouver, he became the club's key creative midfielder, recording 12 assists in the 2025 MLS season and earning MLS Best XI and All-Star honours. He made his USMNT debut in 2025, scoring his first international goal against Uruguay in a 5–1 friendly.
