The story
Tomoki Hayakawa is a Japanese goalkeeper who has been first choice at Kashima Antlers since 2023, playing every minute of the league for three consecutive seasons and winning the 2025 J-League MVP award as Kashima claimed their first title in nine years. He made his senior Japan debut in July 2025.
After coming through the Yokohama F. Marinos youth system and completing a degree at Meiji University, Hayakawa joined Kashima Antlers in 2021. He made his professional debut in the Emperor's Cup that June and progressed to become the first-choice J1 League starter from 2023 onwards, consistently playing every match minute across three seasons.
His 2025 campaign was the high point of his career to date: he won four Save of the Month awards, earned the J.League Best XI, and was crowned the division's Most Valuable Player as Kashima won the league title. He also won the EAFF E-1 Championship with Japan that year, having made his senior international debut in July 2025, and was named to the 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.
