The story
Yvon Mvogo is a Swiss goalkeeper born in Cameroon who developed at Young Boys before joining RB Leipzig, then PSV Eindhoven where he won the KNVB Cup, and established himself as Ligue 2 Goalkeeper of the Year 2024–25 at FC Lorient.
Mvogo progressed through Young Boys' setup in Switzerland before signing for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga in 2017. He gained competitive experience via a loan to PSV Eindhoven, where he won the 2021 Johan Cruyff Shield and the 2021–22 KNVB Cup. He subsequently established himself as a first-choice keeper at French club Lorient from 2022.
In 2024–25 he helped Lorient win Ligue 2 and was named Goalkeeper of the Year for the division. He has 13 senior caps for Switzerland, having appeared at the 2018 World Cup, Euro 2020, and Euro 2024.
