A história
Reece James is Chelsea's captain and one of the most attacking right-backs in English football, renowned for his crossing range and physical intensity. He has been central to the club's European success, winning the Champions League in 2021 and more recently the Conference League and Club World Cup.
James came through Chelsea's academy from the age of six and earned Player of the Year honours during a loan spell at Wigan Athletic in 2018–19 before breaking into the Blues' first team. He became a mainstay at Stamford Bridge, combining defensive solidity with a threat going forward, and was appointed club captain in August 2023.
Recurring hamstring problems have occasionally limited his availability, but when fit he has consistently been among the best at his position in the Premier League. He scored his first England goal against Latvia in March 2025 and has 24 senior caps, though injury has at times restricted his international involvement.
