Douglas Santos

Douglas Santos is a Brazilian left-back who has spent the majority of his career at Zenit Saint Petersburg, where he became a six-time Russian Premier League champion and was twice named Defender of the Season.

Douglas Santos emerged through Náutico in Brazil before moving to Europe, spending time at Granada (on loan to Udinese) and then Atlético Mineiro, where he won the Copa do Brasil in 2014. Hamburger SV signed him in 2016 and he made 80 Bundesliga appearances across three seasons, experiencing both the top flight and the second division.

In 2019 he joined Zenit Saint Petersburg, quickly establishing himself as one of the best left-backs in Russian football. By 2026 he had won six Russian Premier League titles and earned multiple Russian Cup and Super Cup medals, as well as individual awards for best defender and best left-back. At international level he won an Olympic gold medal with Brazil at the 2016 Rio Games and has earned 7 senior caps.
