Igor Matanovic

A tall, physical striker born in Hamburg who chose to represent Croatia internationally, Matanović has become a regular Bundesliga scorer for SC Freiburg.

Matanović progressed through FC St. Pauli's youth system and signed a five-year deal with Eintracht Frankfurt in 2021. Loan stints at St. Pauli and Karlsruher SC — where he scored 14 goals in 32 games in 2023–24 — showcased his goalscoring ability before his move to SC Freiburg. He reached the UEFA Europa League final with Freiburg in 2025–26.

Despite appearing for German youth sides, he committed to Croatia's senior team in 2022. He earned 8 caps and scored 2 goals, making the 2026 World Cup squad.
