Matej Kovar

Czech goalkeeper who joined Manchester United's academy as a teenager before winning the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double with Bayer Leverkusen in 2023–24. Signed permanently by PSV Eindhoven in January 2026, winning the Eredivisie in 2025–26.

Kovář began at 1. FC Slovácko before Manchester United signed him in January 2018. He gained experience on loan at Swindon Town, Burton Albion, and Sparta Prague — where he helped the club win its first Czech First League title since 2014 in 2022–23 and was named Czech First League Goalkeeper of the Season.

He joined Bayer Leverkusen in August 2023 and was part of their historic unbeaten domestic double season in 2023–24. He joined PSV Eindhoven on loan in July 2025 and secured a permanent four-year deal in January 2026, winning the Eredivisie. He has 19 caps for the Czech Republic.
