Rui Silva

Rui Silva is a Portuguese goalkeeper who built his reputation across the Spanish leagues before returning home to Sporting CP, where he won a historic domestic double in 2025. He earned his first Portugal senior cap in 2021 and was included in the 2026 World Cup squad.

After coming through youth football in Maia, Silva established himself with CD Nacional and then Granada CF in Spain, spending four seasons there before Real Betis signed him in 2021. At Betis he became a reliable first choice, winning the Copa del Rey in 2022, and he had previously claimed the Ricardo Zamora Trophy as the best goalkeeper in the Segunda División during the 2018–19 season.

In 2025 Sporting CP took him on loan and then made the deal permanent; he was part of the squad that won both the Primeira Liga and the Taça de Portugal that season. With the national team he has made three senior appearances and was a Nations League winner in 2025.
