Dominant Czech box-to-box midfielder who joined West Ham United in 2020 for ~€21 million and won the UEFA Europa Conference League with the club in 2023. One of Czech football's most capped active players with 89 appearances, he served as national team captain until early 2026.
Souček came through Slavia Prague's academy at age 10 and rose to become one of their most decorated players, winning two Czech First League titles and two Czech Cups before being named Czech First League Player of the Year in 2019. He joined West Ham United on loan in January 2020, making the move permanent in July 2020 for approximately €21 million.
At West Ham he became a fan favourite and key player, helping the club win the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2022–23. He served as Czech Republic captain following Euro 2020 and has 89 caps and 17 goals, though his captaincy ended in early 2026 when Ladislav Krejčí was appointed captain.
