One of the most prolific strikers in European football, of Swedish-Hungarian descent, who signed with Arsenal for a world-class fee after scoring 97 goals in 102 games at Sporting CP.
Gyökeres rose through IFK Aspudden-Tellus and IF Brommapojkarna in Stockholm before joining Brighton in 2018. Following loan spells, he established himself at Coventry City in the Championship before a breakthrough move to Sporting CP in 2023. At Sporting he won back-to-back Primeira Liga titles and scored 97 goals in 102 games, earning the Taça de Portugal in 2024–25.
Arsenal signed him in July 2025 and he helped the club win the Premier League in 2025–26. He made his senior Sweden debut in 2019 and has scored 20 goals in 33 caps, being selected for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He is of Hungarian descent through his paternal grandfather.
