Alphonso Davies

Alphonso Davies is a pace-driven left-back and winger for Bayern Munich who captains Canada. He became a senior professional as a teenager with Vancouver Whitecaps before winning major domestic and European trophies in Germany.

Davies became the first player born in the 2000s to appear in Major League Soccer and moved from Vancouver to Bayern in January 2019. His breakthrough season ended with a Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League treble, and he has remained a major part of Bayern's title-winning teams.

He debuted for Canada in 2017, won the Golden Boot at that year's Gold Cup and later became national-team captain. He scored Canada's first men's World Cup goal at the 2022 tournament.
