La historia
Attacking midfielder born in Belgium to Moroccan parents. Progressed through Anderlecht and Genk's academies in Belgium before a £21 million transfer to Leicester City in 2024 and a subsequent loan/permanent move to VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.
El Khannouss came through Anderlecht's academy before joining Genk in 2019, making his professional debut in 2022. He was named Belgian Pro League Young Professional Footballer of the Season in 2023–24 and won the Belgian Golden Shoe Best Young Player award twice (2022, 2024).
In August 2024 he joined Leicester City for £21 million, then moved to VfB Stuttgart on loan in September 2025 with the deal made permanent in May 2026. Internationally, he chose Morocco and helped them win the 2025 AFCON title and a 2024 Olympic bronze medal.
