Giorgian De Arrascaeta

Giorgian de Arrascaeta is a Uruguayan attacking midfielder widely regarded as one of South America's finest players, spending the bulk of his career at Flamengo where he has won three Copa Libertadores titles. A consistent performer at international tournaments, he has featured at two World Cups and multiple Copa América editions.

De Arrascaeta turned professional with Defensor Sporting in 2012 and won the Uruguayan title there the following year. A move to Cruzeiro in 2015 brought him to broader attention as part of a celebrated midfield unit, where he accumulated 136 appearances and 38 goals across four seasons.

Flamengo paid a then-record Brazilian transfer fee of €15 million to sign him in January 2019. He has since become indispensable to the club's midfield, winning multiple Copa Libertadores, Brasileirão, and Copa do Brasil titles and earning the South American Footballer of the Year award in 2025.
