Rustam Ashurmatov

Rustam Ashurmatov is an Uzbek centre-back who progressed from Bunyodkor to South Korea with Gwangju FC and Gangwon FC, then to Rubin Kazan in Russia, before signing for Esteghlal in Iran in 2025. He has 51 senior international caps and was part of Uzbekistan's 2018 AFC U-23 Championship-winning squad.

Ashurmatov established himself in Bunyodkor's first team from 2015, making 91 appearances before moving to South Korea in 2019. He won the K League 2 title with Gwangju FC that year and went on to play for Gangwon FC before returning home to Navbahor Namangan. He then joined Rubin Kazan in Russia in 2023, winning the Russian First League title, before moving to Esteghlal in Iran in 2025.

A senior international since 2017, Ashurmatov has accumulated 51 caps and 1 goal for Uzbekistan. He was a member of the 2018 AFC U-23 Championship-winning side and remained a core part of the defensive unit for the 2026 World Cup qualification campaign.
