La historia
Stopira is a veteran Cape Verdean left-back who spent eleven seasons at Fehérvár in Hungary, winning two league titles and a cup, before returning to Portugal with S.C.U. Torreense. One of Cape Verde's most capped players, he has represented his country in multiple Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
After starting at Sporting Praia in Cape Verde and passing through Santa Clara, Deportivo de La Coruña B and Feirense in Iberia, Stopira joined Fehérvár (then Videoton) in Hungary in 2012, where he made 265 appearances over 11 seasons and won the Nemzeti Bajnokság I twice (2014–15, 2017–18) and the Magyar Kupa in 2018–19. He moved to S.C.U. Torreense in Portugal in 2024.
He has represented Cape Verde since 2008, earning 61 caps with 4 goals and featuring in the 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.
