L'histoire

Danilo dos Santos de Oliveira is a Brazilian midfielder who rose through Palmeiras' academy to win back-to-back Copa Libertadores titles before moving to England and then returning to Brazil with Botafogo.

Born in Salvador, Danilo was spotted by Palmeiras while playing for PFC Cajazeiras and joined their academy in 2018. He made his Série A debut in 2020 and quickly became a key presence in midfield, helping Palmeiras win the Copa Libertadores in both 2020 and 2021 as well as the Campeonato Brasileiro in 2022. His performances attracted interest from England, and he joined Nottingham Forest in 2023, making 50 league appearances and contributing 5 goals over two seasons.

In July 2025 he returned to Brazil with Botafogo, where he immediately hit form. He made his Brazil senior debut in 2026 and was called up to the World Cup squad under Carlo Ancelotti, scoring twice in international football.
