Fidel Escobar

Fidel Escobar is a Panamanian centre-back who appeared at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and has accumulated close to 100 international caps, playing in Portugal, MLS, Spain, and Costa Rica across his career.

Escobar progressed through San Francisco F.C. and Sporting San Miguelito in Panama before loan stints at Sporting B in Portugal and the New York Red Bulls in MLS (where he won the 2018 MLS Supporters' Shield). He then signed with AD Alcorcón in Spain in 2020.

From 2022 he has been at Deportivo Saprissa in Costa Rica, making over 160 appearances and remaining a cornerstone of the Panama national team defence.
