L'histoire

Ivan Toney is an English striker who plays for Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, having moved from Brentford for approximately £40 million in August 2024. A clinical penalty-taker and powerful centre-forward, he holds the EFL Championship record for most goals in a single season (31 in 2020–21).

Toney spent years in the lower divisions — including loan spells at Barnsley, Shrewsbury Town, Scunthorpe United, and Wigan Athletic while at Newcastle — before finding his level at Peterborough United (40 goals in 76 games). He transferred to Brentford in 2020 and led them to the Premier League, setting the Championship scoring record along the way. An eight-month FA ban in 2023 for betting violations interrupted his career, but he returned to form for club and country. He made his England debut in March 2023, scored his first international goal — a penalty against Belgium — in March 2024, and was part of the Euro 2024 squad that reached the final.
