Jean-Philippe Mateta

Jean-Philippe Mateta is a French striker who became a key figure at Crystal Palace after joining permanently in 2022. A physically imposing forward, he helped Palace win the FA Cup in 2024–25 and earned 4 caps for the France senior team following his impressive club form.

Mateta began his career at Châteauroux before joining Lyon and then Bundesliga side Mainz 05 in 2018. He joined Crystal Palace on loan in January 2021 and the deal became permanent in 2022, where he established himself as the club's second all-time Premier League goalscorer and helped win the FA Cup and UEFA Conference League.

He represented France at the Paris 2024 Olympics, finishing as one of the tournament's top scorers, and made his senior France debut in October 2025.
