Joel Ordoñez

Joel Ordóñez is a young Ecuadorian centre-back who joined Club Brugge in 2023 and quickly won the Belgian Pro League title in his first full season. He became a regular in the Ecuador senior squad from 2024.

Ordóñez developed through Independiente del Valle before Brugge signed him in 2022, initially fielding him for their reserve side Club NXT. He was promoted to the first team in August 2022 and extended his contract to 2029 in 2025, winning the Belgian Pro League in 2023–24 and the Belgian Cup and Super Cup in 2024–25.

He broke into the Ecuador senior squad in 2024 and accumulated 16 caps heading into the 2026 World Cup.
