L'histoire
Keisuke Goto is a Japanese forward who burst onto the scene as a teenager at Júbilo Iwata before moving to Belgium and earning recognition in the Eredivisie era. He signed with SC Freiburg in June 2026 as one of Japan's youngest World Cup squad members.
Goto made his professional debut with Júbilo Iwata in July 2022, and his J2 League bow in February 2023 was remarkable — he scored twice on his first appearance at just 17, setting a club record as their youngest scorer. He finished the season with seven goals in 33 league outings, helping the club to promotion.
In January 2024 he moved to Anderlecht's reserve side RSCA Futures on loan, then joined the senior squad permanently in December 2024. A loan spell at Sint-Truiden for the 2025–26 season brought 11 goals in 25 league appearances and a Pro League Player of the Month award. His form secured a move to SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga for approximately €13 million in June 2026, the same summer he was called up for his first senior Japan caps and named in the 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.
