Marco Friedl

An Austrian centre-back and left-back who has been a mainstay at Werder Bremen since 2019 and has captained the club since 2022. He progressed through Bayern Munich's academy before making his career at Bremen.

Friedl came through youth academies at SV Kirchbichl, FC Kufstein, and Bayern Munich, making a senior appearance for the Bavarian giants and winning the 2017 DFL-Supercup. He joined Werder Bremen on loan in 2018, with the move made permanent in 2019 for around €3 million. He has captained Werder Bremen since July 2022.

He has 11 senior caps for Austria.
