Mark Flekken

A tall Dutch goalkeeper who established himself as one of Europe's most reliable shot-stoppers through stints in German football before excelling at Brentford in the Premier League. He joined Bayer Leverkusen in June 2025.

Flekken spent years progressing through Germany's lower leagues before SC Freiburg gave him a sustained top-flight opportunity. He posted the Bundesliga's best save rate in 2021–22 and attracted Brentford, who signed him in 2023. In 2024–25 he led the Premier League with 153 saves and a 73.6% save percentage.

His consistent form earned him recognition as one of the world's top five goalkeepers by CIES Football Observatory in April 2025, leading to his June 2025 transfer to Bayer Leverkusen. He was part of the Netherlands squad at Euro 2024, where the team reached the semi-finals.
