Mikel Merino

Mikel Merino is a Spanish midfielder at Arsenal, where he signed in August 2024 for approximately £31.6 million after six productive seasons at Real Sociedad. He scored the decisive header in Spain's UEFA Euro 2024 quarter-final and has 43 caps and 10 goals for the national team.

Merino began his career at Osasuna before loan moves to Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle United (2016–18). He settled at Real Sociedad from 2018, winning the Copa del Rey in 2020 and establishing himself as one of La Liga's best midfielders over six seasons.

He joined Arsenal in August 2024 and won the Premier League in 2025–26. Internationally he won the UEFA Under-19 Championship in 2015, the Under-21 Championship in 2019, and was a key figure in Spain's Euro 2024 triumph.
