L'histoire

Neymar is Brazil's all-time leading scorer with 79 goals from 128 caps and one of the most decorated attackers of his generation, having won the Champions League, multiple league titles across three countries and an Olympic gold medal as Brazil captain.

Neymar joined Santos as a teenager and became a sensation in South American football, scoring 107 goals in 179 appearances and leading the club to the 2011 Copa Libertadores. Barcelona signed him in 2013 and he formed the famous MSN trio alongside Messi and Suárez, topping the Champions League and Copa del Rey scoring charts in the 2014-15 treble-winning season. In 2017 Paris Saint-Germain paid a world-record €222 million to secure him, and he went on to win five Ligue 1 titles and reach the 2020 Champions League final before injury curtailed his later years in Paris.

A brief and injury-blighted spell at Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia preceded his return to boyhood club Santos in January 2025. Internationally, Neymar captained Brazil to Olympic gold at Rio 2016, won the 2013 Confederations Cup and sits far clear at the top of Brazil's all-time scoring charts. He was selected for the 2026 World Cup squad, returning to competitive international football after a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury.
