Nishan Velupillay

Nishan Velupillay is an Australian winger who has spent his career at Melbourne Victory and broke into the senior national team in October 2024, scoring on his debut against China. He was the club's top scorer during the 2024–25 season.

Velupillay came through Glen Eira FC's youth programme before joining Melbourne Victory, where he made his professional debut in May 2021. He scored his first professional goal in December 2021 against Adelaide United and went on to win the FFA Cup that same year.

He became a consistent presence in Victory's attack, scoring a notable late equalizer in the 2024 A-League finals. Despite being the club's top scorer in 2024–25, he missed the Grand Final through injury. Internationally, he earned 7 senior caps and scored 3 goals, including efforts against Indonesia and China in World Cup qualifying.
