Robin Roefs

A young Dutch goalkeeper who progressed through NEC Nijmegen's academy before Sunderland signed him in August 2025 on a five-year deal. He made an immediate Premier League impact and earned his first senior Netherlands cap in June 2026.

Roefs developed at VV Heeswijk and NEC Nijmegen, making his professional debut for NEC in September 2023 and becoming a regular starter in 2024–25, earning two Eredivisie Team of the Month nominations. Sunderland recruited him ahead of their Premier League campaign.

He impressed in the top flight from the outset, keeping a clean sheet on debut against West Ham and saving all three penalties in an FA Cup shootout win over Everton in January 2026. He received his first Netherlands call-up and earned a cap in June 2026.
