Samuel Almeida Costa

Samú Costa is a Portuguese defensive midfielder who has become a consistent presence in La Liga with RCD Mallorca after developing through the SC Braga system and a productive spell at UD Almería. He made his senior Portugal debut in October 2024.

Costa came through Braga's youth ranks and had a brief senior appearance for the club before a loan move to UD Almería in the second half of 2020–21 blossomed into a permanent transfer. Over two seasons in Almería he played over 100 times across loan and permanent stints, contributing to the club's promotion to La Liga.

He joined RCD Mallorca in 2023 and has since surpassed 100 appearances for the Balearic side, scoring eight goals — a tally that included a La Liga Goal of the Month award in October 2025. He made his Portugal senior debut as a substitute in a Nations League match against Poland in October 2024 and has earned four caps to date.
