Steven Moreira

Steven Moreira is a French-born right-back who plays for Columbus Crew in MLS and represents Cape Verde internationally after previously appearing for France at youth level. He was named MLS Defender of the Year in 2024.

Moreira developed at Stade Rennais and made 58 senior appearances for the club before moves to Lorient and Toulouse in France. He joined Columbus Crew in 2021 and has accumulated over 130 MLS appearances, winning the MLS Cup in 2023 and the Leagues Cup in 2024. He was voted MLS Defender of the Year and named to the MLS Best XI in 2024.

Having played for France at U16, U19, U20 and U21 level, he switched allegiance to Cape Verde in 2023 and has since earned 17 caps.
