Alex Sandro is a Brazilian left-back who built a distinguished career in European football, spending nine years at Juventus and earning over 40 caps for Brazil. He returned to his homeland in 2024, joining Flamengo.
Alex Sandro came through the youth ranks at Atlético Paranaense and had a loan spell at Santos before Porto signed him in 2011. At Porto he won two consecutive Primeira Liga titles, and his performances earned him a move to Juventus in 2015. Over nine seasons with the Turin club he racked up 327 appearances, won five Serie A titles and four Coppa Italia trophies, and was twice named to the Serie A Team of the Year.
At international level he won the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup and a silver medal at the 2012 Olympics before becoming a senior Brazil regular. He was part of the squad that lifted the 2019 Copa América and accumulated 45 caps in total. In August 2024 he joined Flamengo, bringing his European chapter to a close.
