Edin Džeko

Edin Džeko is Bosnia and Herzegovina's all-time top scorer and most-capped player, with 148 appearances and 73 international goals. The veteran striker currently plays for Schalke 04 in Germany's 2. Bundesliga.

Džeko built his reputation at VfL Wolfsburg, winning the Bundesliga in 2009, before a major move to Manchester City where he claimed two Premier League titles and the FA Cup. He spent five highly productive years at Roma in Serie A, finishing as Serie A top scorer in 2016–17, then joined Inter Milan and Fenerbahçe.

After spells at Fiorentina and a return to German football with Schalke 04 in January 2026, Džeko remains Bosnia and Herzegovina's captain and a key figure in their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign at age 40.
